Managing anxiety

In previous posts I have looked at how you can understand your child’s anxiety. I have considered where it may be coming from and what could be intensifying it. I have also looked at understanding how we can help our children to recognise their own anxieties.  In this session I look at ways of managing anxiety should it reach higher levels of concern.

Managing anxiety is a gift you can give your child from a young age

As has been explored in the sessions included in The Secure Child, negative feelings from time to time are perfectly natural. However, continuously feeling the same way about something can lead to dangerous levels of anxiety that your child needs ways of managing.

Recognise the early signs and learn ways of managing anxiety with your child

It is then important to your child’s social, academic and personal future that you recognise their feelings.  Along with effectively nurturing their coping skills. And at the same time, being aware of the warning signs that something may be troubling them at levels they can no longer manage without you.

This session is taken from our course: The Happy Child
