Nurturing Children

Nurturing Children – Ongoing Continual Professional Development

Nurturing Children offers you and your team core knowledge that everyone working with children needs to know. Through these talks you will gain support as you reflect on your practice; and be guided as you use these reflections to make informed decisions that are right for you, your children and your setting.

You will learn how your children’s brains are bodies are growing and developing. As well as understanding the importance of every engagement you have with them. And as you reflect on your practice, you will recognise the little things that can make the biggest difference as your children grow.

There are sessions on early communication, play and the importance of getting physical. As well as how to embrace change and reflective practice. With the knowledge you gain, you will be ready to nurture your children during these precious years as you communicate, engage and play with confidence. With all you need to refocus attention back on every child in your care.

The Nurturing Childhoods Format

Rooted in child development, each session follows the Nurturing Childhoods format of Knowledge, Understanding and Support. This means that, as you work through the sessions and participate in discussions, you can reflect on your practice with informed confidence. And as you realise the practices you need to celebrate – and with the help you need to challenge others – you can begin to make effective changes to your practice.

All the sessions within Nurturing Children also have complementing sessions available for your parents. Allowing you to work together, as you develop the potential of every child.
